Hitch Adapters & Extenders
These trailer hitch adapters/extenders are used to match a trailer hitch ball mount with a shank size that does NOT match the size of the receiver tube on your trailer hitch. These adapters DO NOT increase towing capacity. When you use an adapter, your maximum trailer weight is the lowest of the following:
50% of the towing capacity of the vehicles trailer hitch.
The vehicle's towing capacity as stated in the vehicles owner's manual.
the adapter's maximum trailer weight rating (see descriptions - usually 3500 lbs.)
Also, when you use an adapter, your maximum tongue weight is the lowest of the following:
50% of the tongue weight capacity of the vehicles trailer hitch.
the adapter's maximum tongue weight rating (see descriptions - usually 300 lbs.)
Reduce rattle and vibration when carrying a bike rack, cargo box or your boat or trailer. Simply slip the stabilizer over the accessory shank before inserting into the receiver tube and tighten to eliminate slack in the receiver tube. For use with ShadowMount or other hitches with a 2" x 5/8" receiver tube.
